Spain has formally apologised for a column by conservative ex-premier Mariano Rajoy questioning the 'Frenchness' of France's World Cup squad. Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares condemned the remarks as xenophobic and racist ahead of a Spain-France semi-final.
