China sentences Evergrande founder Xu Jiayin to life imprisonment, imposes US$2.4bil penalty
China has sentenced Evergrande Group founder Xu Jiayin to life in prison and fined the embattled property developer more than US$2.4 billion for large-scale financial fraud spanning 2016 to 2021.
