Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has dismissed concerns that building stronger ties with leading global powers could compromise Malaysia's fundamental values. Speaking in Muar, he stressed that the country maintains its independent stance on international issues regardless of its diplomatic relationships with major economies.
Anwar clarified that fostering positive connections with countries such as China and the United States represents a pragmatic approach to global engagement. This strategy, he argued, does not necessitate any retreat from Malaysia's established positions on matters of principle affecting the international community.
The Prime Minister's remarks come amid Malaysia's ongoing efforts to balance its diplomatic relationships while navigating complex geopolitical dynamics in the region and beyond. His statement underscores the government's commitment to pursuing beneficial partnerships without sacrificing the nation's core values and interests.
